As much as he doesn’t look anything like me, though, it is just really nice having a puppet. (link)

Time to Reply by Charlie McDonnell
I wanna say thank you
For brightening my day
I hope that I
Could do just the same for youI find we’ve so much in common
How weird can it be
That I feel I know you
Though you don’t know meCharlie told LeakyNews that he started off writing this song from the perspective of someone watching him on YouTube, but that it slowly changed to a song that could be about anybody watching anybody else.
The song kind of embodies this fan-content creator relationship that happens so much within fandoms, where one person is having all these feelings and personal changes as a result of their connection to the content creator and the other person… isn’t really aware that relationship is happening at all.
It’s very poignant and, I feel, a very accurate representation of what being a fan can be like a lot of the time. I mean, he took some of the lyrics from e-mails he gets from fans and a lot of them are things we say to/about our own role models. And I think it’s obvious for anybody who follows my blog that there are a few people this brings to mind more than anybody else in my case, but I think everybody would find something to relate to here. It’s lovely and you should watch the video if you haven’t already!
